Fess Parker Winery Re-Conceptualizes Their “Big Easy” Wine
Santa Barbara, CA – For decades, the Fess Parker Winery, located in the heart of the Santa Barbara County Wine Country, has held an admiration and fascination for “The Big Easy”, a moniker for America’s iconic city, New Orleans. The family and New Orleans share four mutual loves; hospitality, food, wine and music.
Since its launch in 2004, The Big Easy has been well received by critics and beloved consumers. Although the wine is stylistically very different from our Rodney’s Vineyard syrah, over the years there have been inevitable comparisons. In order to differentiate the two wines and add “a little jazz” to their line-up, the Parker family developed a new package for The Big Easy that returns this wine to its roots, so to speak.
The label features the original piece “Bourbon Street Dazzle” by artist, Donna Millsap, and depicts a classic New Orleans street scene; a vibrant French Quarter at night; when the city comes alive with jazz, the smell of Creole cuisine and a multitude of people in the mood to celebrate life.
The wine itself was fashioned to go well with a wide array of bold flavors, inspired by Creole and Cajun cuisine, though it is also an ideal barbeque wine. It is a proprietary red of Rhone varietals primarily grown on Parker family ranches. Made by winemaker Blair Fox, and his team, The Big Easy will be available on the broad market, beginning mid-October. The brand will launch, appropriately, with a celebration in New Orleans on October 15th.
