I am submitting 2 photos of myself at age 2 and my sister Janise at age 5 with our hero Fess Parker as Davey Crockett.
He and Buddy Ebsen(Georgie Russell) had just arrived at Detroit's Willow Run Airport on a promotional tour and as my sister and I were sporting our coonskin caps, we were lucky enough to be picked to pose with "Davy" for a photo that appeared in the Detroit newspaper.
I still have memories of running around in my coonskin cap carrying my gun and powder horn. Those were some of the best of times.
I have kept these photos through the years as I moved from Michigan to California to Nevada and now make my home in San Francisco.
I am so proud to be able to say I once met this great American. Fess Parker was a shining example of acting talent, service to his country, hospitality, wine making and most of all high morals and family values.
The world is a better place because of him and his 85 years of a life well lived.
He will be missed.
Thank You, Liane West
