Throughout the month of October, we at the Fess Parker Winery have been celebrating harvest with a month full of events appropriately called, OktoberFess. On Saturday, October 27th, we celebrated the end of harvest with our finale to OktoberFess: Wine, Pizza, Friends, and More.
It was a beautiful day that would eventually turn into a perfect night. With our estate vineyards as the backdrop, and beautiful oak trees dotting the winery grounds, we were ready to have some fun.
We were very fortunate and honored to have Bello Forno come out and cater the event for us. Serving wood-fired artisan pizza's from their custom created pizza oven.
We were also very excited to pour some special beers from Shipyard Brewing Company from Portland, Maine. Thanks to a recent partnership in representation channels we were able to secure some of these great beers to share with our members.
We were lucky enough to have our assistant winemaker, Dave Potter, find some time in his busy harvest schedule to do a special barrel tasting of our 2011 Rodney's Vineyard Estate Syrah.
As the day gave way to the night, it was time to eat some pizza. Bello Forno created 5 different tasty pizza's for the evening: Margherita, pear & proscuitto, chicken chipotle, pepperoni & pasilla pepper, and a Greek pizza.
Wine, Pizza, Friends, and More...was a lot of fun. Thank you to everyone who came out and celebrated with us. We would also like to give a special thanks to Bello Forno catering for the delicious food and Shipyard Brewing Company for the tasty brews. We look forward to next year's 2nd annual OktoberFess.
