Saturday December 1st, 2012, marked our first ever Fess Parker Christmas tree lighting. As the chilly night came upon us we opened up our tasting room doors for a night full of wine, food, music, and Christmas cheer, and of course the lighting of our 12 foot Christmas tree topped with a coonskin cap.
To help make this a memorable night we had a special musical guest, Natalie Gelman, playing Christmas classics as well as original songs. Guests of the evening were able to sit down and warm themselves by the fire while listening to Natalie’s beautiful melodies.
Our tasting room staff was eager to pour some special Fess Parker wines. Available to taste were some current vintage wines as well as select offerings from our library. Members had a great time tasting through our wines looking to find the perfect one to take to their next holiday party or to have with Christmas dinner.
There was plenty of food coming out of the Fess Parker kitchen throughout the night. Cheese and charcuterie platters, canapés, as well as passed appetizers such as bacon wrapped dates, sautéed shrimp with siracha and lemon aoli, risotto with pancetta, roasted butternut squash, and hen of the woods mushrooms. Dessert included ginger spice cake, double chocolate brownies, and a Bailey’s Irish cream panna cotta with dark chocolate curls.
We would like to send a special thanks to Natalie Gelman for coming out and playing some great music, and also to everyone who came out to spend the evening with us. Our hope is that it brought you some fun, joy, and relaxation in the midst of the busy holiday season. Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.
