As a family owned and operated business, sustainability is top of mind for us. Fess Parker Winery is committed to sustainable practices that protect the land, conserve resources, and support future generations. From organic farming at our SIP Certified estate vineyard to natural pest management, water conservation, solar-powered operations, and eco-friendly packaging, every step of our process is guided by a balance between environmental stewardship, exceptional winemaking, and a deep investment in our people.

Organic Farming Techniques

In addition to achieving SIP Certification in 2020, Fess Parker Winery practices organic farming, using no synthetic herbicides or fertilizers throughout the growing season, at our Estate Vineyard, Rodney’s.

Vineyard Certifications

In addition to our own organic farming, Fess Parker Winery is committed to sourcing grapes from vineyards that not only meet the rigorous standards we look for in the quality of the grapes themselves, but which also have done the work to adhere to the rigorous standards as defined by the available certification bodies, such as:

Rodney’s Vineyard – SIP certified in 2020
Bien Nacido Vineyard – SIP certified since 2012
Fiddlestix Vineyard – SIP certified since 2013
Camp 4 Vineyard – SIP certified since 2021
Sanford & Benedict Vineyard- CSWA Certified Sustainable

Solar Powered Winemaking Facility

In 2022, we took our sustainability efforts to a new level with the installation of solar panels on our Santa Maria winemaking facility. The 1371 x 400 Watt Inverters account for 98% of the facility’s total power, producing 818,000 kilowatts annually, in effect, offsetting an equivalent of 14,000,000 car miles and 31,000,000 pounds of carbon dioxide. Electric forklifts are also used in this facility.
